Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) read p.16 Willi und Milli and discussed new vocabulary, (2) completed and checked p.6 interview activity, and (3) reviewed past participles of irregular verbs. Homework: 8:7, 14 -read, 15:14.

Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) reviewed verbs from German 1, (3) talked about properties of verbs, (4) completed first section of verb worksheet, and (5) talked about weekend plans. Homework: study the grading policy and complete the noun worksheet distributed in class.

Period 4B: Students (1) introduced themselves and answered questions on what they heard, (2) answered questions about the text pp.254-6, (3) noted unfamiliar vocabulary from the text, and (4) completed two review activities (handout). Homework: composition (section 5 of the handout), study for quiz on the grading policy.

Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) reviewed forming and using the conversational past tense. Homework: 6-7:3-5.

Period 3: Students (1) introduced themselves in German and answered questions about the introductions, (2) reviewed properties of nouns, and (3) reviewed nouns they have learned in the categoroies: clothing, school and reviewed the colors. Homework: finish worksheet handout out in class with noun categories (minimum of 5 words in each).

Period 4A: Students (1) submitted activities fee, (2) reviewed main points of grading policy, (3) checked homework, (4) reviewed verbs and how to form their present tense, (4) reviewed and practiced word order rules, and (6) talked about weekend plans. Homeowork: study for a quiz on the grading policy and complete verb worksheet distributed in class.

  • Period 2: Students (1) submitted activities fee and student information sheet, (2) read aloud texts 1-3 pp.2 and 3 and answered questions on what they read, (3) read silently text 4 page 3 and summarized what they read. Homework: page 5 Übung macht den Meister, 2; 11:9. 12:10.
  • Period 3: Students (1) submitted activities fee, (2) reviewed important highlights from Mr. Desmond's grading policy, (3) talked about properties of nouns, and (4) noted questions for homework. Homework: prepare short presentation for class tomorrow.
  • Period 4B: Students (1) read and discussed Mr. Desmond's grading policy, (2) received books, (3) talked about the activities fee, and (4) read aloud text 254-5, paying particular attention to the pronounciation of "est", "et", and the letter "s" in various positions. Homework: prepare presentation (5 - 10 sentences), bring activities fee, make vocabulary list.

For homework, students must read the grading policy and show it to a parent, and bring in a check in the amount of $15 for the activities fee, and complete the information sheet.
  • Period 3:Students (1) received books, a grading policy and a workbook letter, (2) completed a student information sheet, and (3) answered questions about themselves in German. For homework, students must bring in the activities fee of $29.
  • Period 4A: Students (1) received grading policy, books, workbook letter, (2) completed information sheets, (3) shared biographical information and answered questions on presentations, and (4) reviewed basic vocabulary from German 1. For homework, students must bring in the activities fee of $29 and complete worksheet on nouns.
