Period 2: Students (1) discussed upcoming class assignments, (2) received information about the German Honor Society, (3) handed in homework, and (4) reviewed reflexive verbs pp.58-60. Homework: bring in signed detailed grade report on 10/17.


Period 3: Students (1) chekced homework, (2) learned about nationalities, inhabitants, and languages by completing a chart on page 47, and (3) discussed upcoming class assignments. Homework: bring in signed detailed grade report on 10/10. Lektion 3 test announced for 10/12.



Period 4A: Students (1) completed a quiz on lesson 3, (2) looked at new vocabulary for Kapitel 4 pp.68-69, (3) learned a new strategy to learn vocabulary and practiced it with twelve new words from pp.68-9, (4) read p.53 and answered the comprehension questions on page 54-activity A, (5) reviewed indirect questions, (6) restated the questions in activity A as indirect questions, (7) read the dialogs pages 54-55, noting instances of pronouns, (8) restated questions in activity A pages 55-56 as indirect questions and answered them, and (9) completed activity 3 pages 56-57. Homework: bring in a detailed grade report on 10/11.

Period 2: Students (1) read about youth hostels in Germany pp.54-26, (2) noted new vocabulary in the Ergänzung p.57, and (3) checked homework. Homework: write a story to the pictures in workbook activity 6 pages 26 and 27.


Period 3: Students (1) praticed stating family relationships with possessives, (2) reviewed interrogative expressions, (3) checked homework to practice #1 and #2, and (4) practiced responding to basic questions (Wie geht's? Wie heisst du? Warum lernst du Deutsch?). Homework: 46, activity I.


Period 4B: Students (1) reviewed order of object pronouns, (2) checked homework, (3) practiced using pronouns in a role-play conversation, and (4) completed listening/speaking activities 49-D, 50-E,F,G. Homework: no written homework.

Period 2: Students took a test on Kapitel 1. Homework: study Ergänzung p.57 and complete activity 6 p.26 in workbook to accompany Deutsch Aktuell 2. Use a minimum of 5 sentences in each sentence.


Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) practiced stating relationships of people on a family tree, (3) learned about forming questions, and (4) completed activity G page 45. Homework: 44 - F (modified) and 45 - H.


Period 4A: Students (1) learned about indirect questions, (2) checked homework using indirect questions, (3) rephrased the questions in pages 48 and 49 to Mr. Desmond using indirect questions, (4) talked about a family tree using constructions to show relationships, (5) went over glaring errors on compositions, (6) corrected and submitted compositions, (7) practiced speaking German by talking about a poster, and (8) practiced indirect questions using the same poster as in #8. Homework: study for a test on Kapitel 3 of German is Fun, Book 2.
