Period 2: Students (1) read dialogs pp.80-82 aloud, (2) orally completed and checked 80-2:1-3, (3) checked homework, and (4) sang a song Die poetischen Verben to practice the principal parts of verbs. Homework: wb40-1:1-3.
Period 3: (1) checked homework and classwork from 11-14, and (2) watched film 6, noting vocabulary. Homework: workbook activity 10, pages 114-115.
Period 4A: (1) checked classwork from 11-14, (2) discussed word order and analyzed selected sentences from the Lesestück, (3) completed and checked an unscramble activity to review common presents [GVE3], (4) reported back to class about the ages, birthdays, and gifts of classmates and their friends [GVE4], (5) completed and checked a written activity to review word order [GVE12], and (6) began an activity to practice subordinate word order in indirect questions [GVE6]. Homework: finish worksheet form class and complete activity 10 on pages 114-5 of the workbook.

Period 2: Students (1) checked classwork completed during Mr. Desmond's absence on 11-14, (2) listened to a recording a chapter 3 dialogs, answered questions on the dialogs, and read the dialogs w/ the a recording. Homework: page 83, activity 4.

Period 3: Students (1) reviewed common presents by completing a words search, (2) completed and checked an activity to review the verb sprechen and pronoun replacements, (3) read the chapter 8 Lesestueck, noted new vocabulary, and answered oral questions about the reading. Homework: 251:15,16.

Period 4B: Students (1) checked homework, (2) practiced pronoun replacements in the present, passe compose, and future tenses, (3) learned about reflexives p. 275, (4) completed and checked workbook 173 activity 2, textbook 276:3 to practice #4, (5) took a quiz on lesson 18, and (6) previewed tonight's homework. Homework: wb174, activity 3; textbook 276, activity 4; textbook 277 activity 6.

Period 2: Students (1) took a quiz on the principal parts of strong verbs schiessen - wissen, (2) finished learning the German names for selected European countries, their languages and inhabitants, (3) completed an oral activity to practice #2, (4) completed 94:12 orally and with indirect questions, (5) checked homework, and (6) read the Lesestück aloud. Homework: workbook 50-51:11,12.

Period 3: Students (1) took a quiz on commands, (2) finished sharing birthdays, (3) reviewed verbs with stem-vowel changes, and (4) completed 243:7 and 244:8. Homework: sentences with birthdays and gifts.

Period 4B: Students (1) completed and checked a worksheet on pronouns, (2) listened to a recoding of the vidéo-scène 18, (3) read #2 , (3) answered the questions to #2, (4) completed and checked workbook 57:B, (5) went over #1 orally, (6) negated sentences in #1, and completed listening activity WB 58:H. Homework: study for a quiz on Lesson 18 and the pronouns and read the Lecture chapter 18.

Period 2: Students (1) completed a quiz on verbs through rufen, (2) orally completed activities 14-16 pp.98-99, (3) learned about weak der-class nouns, and (4) starting learning about vocabulary relating to countries, languages, and citizens in Europe.

Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) learned ordinal numbers, (3) were introduced to vocabulary to talk about vocabulary p.241, and (4) shared information about birth dates. Homework: write the birthdays for those students who gave the information in class.

Period 4A: Students (1) took a quiz on commands, (2) completed a worksheet on common gifts and the verb sprechen, (3) reviewed verbs with stem-vowel changes, (4) completed 243-4:7,8 to practice #4, (5) asked indirect questions about the dialogue in 244:8, (5) reviewed birthdays and the expression "von mir". Homework:none.
