Period 2: Students (1) completed and check two vocabulary activities from wb K1 6,9, (2) completed two oral activities to practice vocabulary pertaining to the airport, and (3) role played a conversation between a taxi driver and passenger. Homework: study for a vocabulary quiz on Der Flughafen.

Period 3: Students (1) completed a quiz on verbs with "common sense" adjustments, (2) received a handout with enrichment vocabulary relating to free time and talked about what they do in their free time, (3) practiced asking and answering questions about free time with du/ich, and (4) noted verbs with stem vowel change from a to a (Umlaut), i.e. fahren, schlafen, fallen, laufen. Homework: study for a quiz on verbs with stem vowel changes.

Period 4B: Students (1) reviewed Mr. Desmond's homework policy, (2) checked homework, (3) completed and checked a dictation, (4) answered the questions that were on the dictation, (5) learned vocabulary relating to types of movies, and (6) learned and practiced vocabulary to extend, accept, and refuse invitations. Homework: study for a vocabulary test on lesson 13.

Period 2: Students (1) checked , (2) learned new vocabulary relating to the airport pp.28.39, and (3) reviewed participles of verbs. Homework: pick 15 new words introduced in class today and study them using the 5-column menthod.

Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) reviewed how to conjugate a regular verb, (3) completed sections 3-5 of verb worksheet, and (4) discussed false cognates. Homework: study for a verb quiz.

Period 4A: Students (1) completed verb review worksheet on separable-prefixed verbs and commands, (2) received a reading and read about cognates, related words, and easy words in context, and (3) began reading section 4 of the handout. Homework: go to tagescchau and find 5 words you recognize because you know English. Write a simple sentence with each word. Bring a detailed grade report with signatures.

Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) described a classmate and read the description aloud for others to guess the identity, and (3) watched a dvd about German food and eating out in Germany. Homework: read 23-27 and complete the activity on page 27 entitled "Wovon spricht man hier?"

Period 3: Students (1) corrected quizzes on grading policy, (2) completed a quiz on nouns, (3) continued reviewing verbs. Homework: verb worksheet read section 1 and complete section 2.

Period 4B: Students (1) read aloud pp.192-3, noting new vocabulary, (2) listened to nine statements about what they read and determined whether or not the statements were true or false, (3) checked #2, (4) heard the statements again, repeated the true sentences and corrected the false items, (5) completed a quiz on the grading policy, (6) reviewed new vocabulary in sections A and B of lesson 13. Homework: read the Note Culturelle pp. 196-7, copy, and translate.

Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) learned about common signs in German, (3) completed and checked activity 8 p. 10, and (3) reviewed past participles of common strong verbs. Homework: 13:12 and read pp.16 &17.



Period 3: Students (1) took a quiz on the grading policy for the class, (2) went over the bathroom policy, (3) checked homework activities 1-4 on nouns worksheet, (4) reviewed what we know about nouns. Homework: study the worksheet on nouns sections 1 - 4.



Period 4A: Students (1) checked homework to review verbs, (2) completed and checked section 8 of worksheet with modals and other verbs, (3) reviewed classroom objects and recreational activities with flashcards, (4) orally completed a question/answer activity to practice selected modal verbs, (5) took a quiz on the gradiong policy for the class, (6) reviewed irregular verbs haben, sein, werden, wissen, and (7) reviewed haben with flashcards. Homework: study noun worksheets.
