Period 2: Students (1) played twenty questions to practice forming interrogatives, (2) received their workbooks, (3) told what they would like to see on the Romantische Straße and why, (4) shared answers to 46:22 with a partner and (5) reported back to class. Homework: finish activity on the top of page 44 and complete activity 12, page 9 of the workbook.

Period 3: Students (1) checked the activities that were completed in German is Fun pages 18-27, and (2) practiced asking and answering the questions "wie geht's". Homework: complete 27-30,;31, Persönlich Fragen and J in German is Fun.

Period 4A: Students (1) checked homework, (2) mingled about the room to find out about free time activities, (3) reviewed word order rules, and (4) received a handout and completed activities A,B and C. Homework: complete the remaining activities in the word order packet with the exception of the last activity.

Period 2: Students (1) completed a test on Lektion 16 of German is Fun, and (2) practice using airport vocabulary by three visuals. Homework: no written homework.



Period 3: Students (1) completed a test on Lektion 1 of German is Fun, (2) learned a new strategy to study vocabulary, and (3) played "password" to practice vocabulary from German is Fun Lektion 2. Homework: no written work.



Period 4A: Students (1) completed a test on Lektion 1 of German is Fun, and (2) completed all activities in German is Fun 2 pp.22-29. Homework: German is Fun pp.18-21, p.29 #7, p.30 #7 (continued) and #8, p.31 Persönliche Fragen, p.31 activity J (double space, loose leaf).

Period 2: Students (1) handed in compositions, (2) guessed why today was a "besonderer Tag", (3) learned some common comparisons with animals, and (4) played a vocabulary game in preparation for tomorrow's test. Homework: study for a test on Lektion 16.


Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) learned about determining the gender of compound nouns, (3) read aloud a dialogue "im Kaufhaus" p.13 and noted new vocabulary, (4) worked with a partner to prepare a variation of the dialogue on page 13 and (5) presented the dialogue to the class. Homework: study for a test on Lektion 1 of German is Fun 2.


Period 4B: Students (1) checked homework, (2) changed sentences from 205:3 to the negative and the future, (3) completed and checked workbook 157:4 to practice using object pronouns in sentences with an infinitive, (4) discussed using sentences in the imperative with object pronouns, (5) completed textbook activities 206:4,5 and 207:7, and (6) viewed and described a scene on a transparency to practice verbs p.205. Homework: bring all materials to next class. Lesson 14 quiz is scheduled for 9-24.

Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, and (2) practiced question/answer drill with accusative case. Homework: study pp.15-16. Complete p.16 Building Vocabulary.

Period 4A: Students (1) checked homework, (2) practiced accusative case with definite and indefinite articles with vocabulary flashcards, and (3) read and varied conversation p.13. Homwork: study pp.15-16. Complete p.16 Building Vocabulary. Test on German is Fun Kapitel 1 on Wednesday.
