Period 2 students:
  • finished watching the video on Karneval in Köln, and
  • summarized the story in 20 words or less.
Homework: complete all activities in handout to practice adjectives.

Period 3 students:
  • handed in their homework,
  • completed 370-371:12,13,14 w/ modifications,
  • learned the expression "Ich wünsche Ihnen alles Gute",
  • watched a video to review word order.
Homework: study for a quiz on subject pronouns and possessives.

Period 4B students:
  • completed and checked an activity to practice future tense verbs,
  • translated the story and checked the translations,
  • took a quiz on devoir, venir, recevoir, savoir, vouloir, pouvoir, envoyer, and acheter,
  • completed workbook 90 E, F, G, and
  • described an illustration with si and quand classes, paying attention to proper tense.
Homework: study for a lesson 31 quiz, read 418-19 and answer questions to the vidéo-scène.

  • looked up vocabulary in preparation for watching a video Alles Gute 26,
  • discussed the English equivalents for the vocabulary words,
  • watched part of the video and answered questions as we went along.
Period 3 students:
  • handed in their homework (acc. and dat. prepositions, dative verbs),
  • finished taking notes on possessive adjectives,
  • completed some practice sentences to apply what were told about possessives, and
  • completed and checked workbook activities 9 and 10 p.186.
Homework: 186:10 redo with new nouns, make necessary changes, translate the sentences.

Period 4A students:
  • checked homework,
  • practiced using the dative case with possessives, and
  • completed and checked 381:7 and 8.
Homework: students should complete 381:7 as modified in class.

Period 3 students had academic enrichment period.

Period 4B students:
  • checked homework,
  • completed and checked activities 5 and 6 in the workbook pp.222-23, and
  • completed sentences with si-clauses and quand-clauses, and
  • had their academic enrichment period.
homework: study all known tenses for the verbs devoir, venir, recevoir, savoir, vouloir, pouvoir, envoyer, and acheter. Quiz on Friday.

Period 3 students:
  • completed and checked a warm up activity to practice musical instruments,
  • checked yesterday's matching activity with words from the Kapitel 8 Lesestück, and
  • learned about possessive adjectives.
Homework: list the accusative and dative prepositions and their English equivalents and the verbs requiring dative objects.

Period 4A students:
  • checked homework,
  • learned about possessives adjectives, and
  • completed and checked workbook activities 9-11 pp.186-87.

Period 3 students:
  • checked homework,
  • noted small but important words from the Kapitel 12 Lesestück,
  • looked up the words we noted, and
  • began a matching activity with the words.
Homework: finish the matching activity, study musical instruments, and the questions about music on page 363. There is a quiz on this information tomorrow.

Period 4B students:
  • reviewed lesson 30 pp.420-425,
  • reviewed real/unreal conditions,
  • learned about sentences with quand-clauses p.426,
  • completed 426:10 and 11 to practice sentences with quand-clauses,
  • learned the irregular future forms of selected verbs (p.427),
  • took a quiz on irregular verbs, and
  • previewed the homework.
Homework: conjugate the following verbs in the present tense, the passé composé, the imperfect, and the simple future: devoir, venir, reçevoir, savoir, vouloir, pouvoir, envoyer, acheter. You will need to look up the future irregular stems on page 427.
