Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) completed and checked a worksheet to practice the narrative past of selected regular verbs, (3) completed and checked a fill-in activity with a story for additional practice of the narrative past, (4) reviewed formation of the narrative past of irregular verbs, (5) reviewed the principal parts of irregular verbs, and (6) completed a word search on animals. Homework: study the principal parts of verbs page 97.
Period 3: Students (1) reviewed how to form and use commands, (2) checked homework, (3) learned about nouns in apposition, (4) completed and checked activity 19 page 254, (5) previewed the homework, and (6) learned about flavoring words.
Period 4B: Students (1) checked homework, (2) orally completed 265:3, 268:7,8, and workbook 57-8 D-G, and (3) completed and checked a worksheet to practice all types of pronoun replacements we have learned thus far. Homework: read 262-3 & questions, workbook 172-4.

Period 2: Students (1) took a test on lesson 9 GIF2, (2) learned how to form and use the narrative past, (3) completed and checked wb 47:8, and (4) learned the names for common animals. Homework: 93:10, wb 46:7 (include plurals).
Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, and (2) learned about commands 252-3. Homework: 253:17 + translations.
Period 4B: Students (1) checked homework, (2) learned about commands 252-253, (3) complted 253:17. 254:18, (4) learned vocabulary relating to birthdays and birthday gifts p.241, (5) learned how to use ordinal number to say on which day a person has a birthday, (6) talked about when they have birthdays, and (7) answered questions about each other's birthdays. Homework: study for a quiz on commands and write sentences describing when each classmate has birthday and what he or she will get for a present.

Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) took a quiz, (3) played a pantomime activity to review expression of illness, and (4) completed and checked p.179 Building Your Vocabulary. Homework: study for a test on lesson 9.

Period 3: Students (1) took a test on lesson 5, (2) watched film 6 with subtitles , noting new vocabulary, and (3) received questions to the film and watched it again without subtitles to get the answers to the questions. Homework: 5-column activity with word from the video. Bring Deutsch Aktuell and workbook.

Period 4B: Students (1) corrected paragraphs, (2) took a quiz on lesson 17, (3) were introduced to new vocabulary in lesson18 [time expressions and expressing one's opinion], (4) learned about "y" and "en", (5) completed and checked workbook activities 1 and 2 page 171. Homework: 265:2, 268:9.

Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) answered additional questions with wenn, (3) noted the difference between wenn and wann, (4) learned adverbs of time, (5) completed and checked listening comprehension activity L page 174, (6) completed activity F page 168 with sentences suggested by Mr. Desmond, (7) learned about word order with sentences beginning with an element other than the subject and containing a reflexive pronouns, and (8) reviewed the question Wie geht est dir? and its possible answers. Homework: complete all activities pp.169-172.

Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) reviewed for the test, and (3) practiced extending and declining invitations. Homework: study for a test on lesson 5.

Period 4A: Students (1) reviewed subordinating and coordinating conjunctions, (2) corrected paragraphs, (3) watched video 7 and noted new vocabulary, (4) took a quiz on verbs with prefixes and indirect questions, (5) viewed film 7 again and answered questions on them, (6) practiced restating the questions to the film as indirect questions and checked the answers to them. Homework: bring Deutsch Aktuell 1, the workbook, and rewrite the questions to video 7 as indirect questions.

Period 3: Students (1) completed and checked pp.82-3 I, (2) checked homework, (3) completed and checked 85-6 K, 86- L. 87 - O, and (4) previewed the personal questions 87-88. A test on lesson 5 was announced for Wednesday. Homework: rewrite the personal questions pp. 87-88 as indirect questions on loose leaf paper. Answer the questions in the book.
