Period 2: Students (1) revised dialogues completed as homework with peer feedback, (2) picked a favorite word from the list on page 77, (3) completed and checked listening comprehension activities 1 and 3, Kapitel 2, (4) checked 34:15, and (5) played a vocabulary game. Homework: workbook 38-9:19, 31:12. A test on Kapitel 2 was announced for 10/30.



Period 3: Students (1) took a quiz on vocabulary notes to Martin, (2) learned about the verb "gefallen" and practiced using it to talk about likes and dislikes, and (3) checked homework. Homework: pick 15 words from pages 89-90 in German is Fun to learn using the 5-column activity.



Period 4A: Students (1) reviewed how to use the verb gefallen and practiced using it to talk about likes and dislikes, (2) talked about subordinating and coordinating conjunctions, (3) found examples of subordinating conjunctions in the text, (4) talked about word order with sentences that have subordinating conjunctions, (5) checked homework, (6) read and answered questions on an invitation 87-O, (7) shared answers to #6, and (8) prepared writing samples based on either 88-P or Martin packet activity G. Homework: 97-C, 100-reading, and 98-D. A test was announced for 11/1 on lesson 5 of German is Fun 2.

Period 2: Students (1) completed and checked workbook activities 1-3 pages 20-21, (2) checked homework, and (3) prepared and presented directed a directed dialogue in a youth hostel situation. Homework: workbook 35:17 and 34:15.



Period 3: Students (1) took a test on lesson 4, (2) reviewed vocabulary in Martin, and (3) learned about subordinating conjunctions weil, nachdem, and wenn. Homework: prepare vocabulary notes for a quiz and complete activities A and B in Martin packet.



Period 4B: Students (1) completed and checked a worksheet to practice savoir and connaître, (2) checked homework, (3) read the vidéo-scène 16, noting new vocabulary, (4) completed and checked the comprehension questions on page 223 to #4, (4) completed and checked workbook activity 51-B, (5) watched unit 4 dvd, (6) completed and discussed lesson 16 lecture, and (7) took a quiz on object pronouns. Homework: complete worksheet Unit 4 pretest.

Period 2: Students (1) took a quiz on pronouns and reflexive pronouns, (2) listened to three dialogues and answered questions about them, (3) read the dialgoues they heard and orally completed activities 1 and 2 pages 50-51. Homework: read over dialogues pages 50-52 and completed activities 3 and 4. For activity 3, rewrite each question as an indirect question and answer it.


Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) completed and checked listening comprehension activity K p.66, (3) prepared answers to the questions on page 67, (4) practiced asking the questions as indirect questions and answering them, and (5) listened to Mr. D. read aloud the story Martin and noted new vocabulary. Homework: study for a test on Lesson 4 pp.53-69. Be sure that activities A and B are done for Martin.


Period 4A: Students (1) noted new vocabulary in the reading Martin, (2) checked homework, stating questions as indirect ones, (3) worked on C, D, E in the Martin packet and checked it. Homework: complete F in Martin worksheet.

Period 2: Students (1) went over performance on yesterday's quiz, (2) reviewed information about pronouns and reflexives, (3) completed and checked a worksheet to practice #2, (4) completed a quiz on vocabulary pages 63,64, and 57, and (5) practiced formulating and answering indirect questions with reflexives. Homework: study for tomorrow's quiz on object pronouns and reflexive verbs.

Period 3: Students (1) checked homework, (2) practiced using the verb aussehen, (3) learned about accusative pronouns in the first and second persons, (4) reviewed the accusative prepositions, (5) sang the accusative preposition song, (6) reviewed the forms of möchte (as an alternative to mögen), and (7) completed and checked activity I pages 64 and 65. A lesson 4 test was announced for 10/25 or 26. Homework: complete activity J pages 65-6.

Period 4B: Students (1) checked homework, (2) learned about ordering two object pronouns in the same sentences, (3) completed and checked workbook activity 6 page 165, (4) orally completed textbook activity 9 page 229 with and without the book, negative and positive, (5) completed and checked activity 10 page 229 of the textbook, (6) completed and checked listening/speaking activities D-F pages 52-3 in the workbook, (7) learned the forms of savoir and contrasted the verb to connaître, (8) completed and checked 231:1 and 165:7 to practice #7, and (9) talked about somone they know and fact about this person. Homework: 229:9 and 230:11. A unit 4 test was announced for next week.

Period 2: Students (1) checked homework, (2) completed a quiz on reflexives and object pronouns, (3) read Will & Millli, and (4) completed and checked workbook 30:9. Homework: study for a vocabulary quiz on 57, 63 and 64.


Period 3: Students (1) reviewed p.59 #4, the dialogue with direct object pronouns, (2) reviewed mögen and completed p.60 E, (3) practiced using mögen and direct object pronouns with flashcards, and (4) completed and checked activity F pages 60-61, and activity G page 61. Homework: 62-H.

Period 4A: Students (1) checked homework and (2) completed activities on pages 78-86 (except J). Homework: read "Martin" and complete activities A and B.
